About Us

PHF Fire is a family run company operating from its offices and stores in Hertfordshire.

PHF Electrical was founded in February 1984 by current partner, Paul Faulkner. What started out as a one-man operation with a focus on small electrical jobs, has over 36 years grown to become a leading contractor, now employing more than 32 staff.

1984 to 1990. We entered the fire alarm industry in 1987, following the devastating King’s Cross fire, which brought about new – and much needed – fire safety regulations. Around this time we completed two large projects in partnership with a leading fire alarm manufacturer, Paddington and Waterloo Stations.

1990 to 2000. We worked in partnership with numerous manufacturers as their preferred supplier to carry out their installation projects. In addition, we began to work with electrical contractors as their specialist fire alarm installer.

2000 to 2010. The workforce expanded and with a wealth of experience under our belt, PHF started carrying out installations for our own clients. Our first large project from design to completion was at Barkers of Kensington. This consisted of 7 fire alarm panels, 1450 trigger devices and 3 Vesda systems. We also carried out the installation of the fire alarm system at the Post Office Tower in partnership with Chubb.

2010 to present. Over the past 10 years we have along with our knowledgeable and dedicated workforce, designed and installed numerous projects, including, Canada Water Library, Suffolk One, Elmer Square Southend, Gallopers Wind Farm and West Suffolk Crematorium to name a few.

In 2018 we secured a project with TClarke, for the design supply and installation of the fire detection, PA/VA and disabled refuge systems at 22 Bishopsgate. This is one of the largest building projects in Europe and is forefront in the latest fire detection and alarm system design.

In addition to the installation side of the company PHF Fire also has a dedicated fire alarm maintenance department with a portfolio of over 300 customers.

As we enter a new decade PHF Fire will continue to strive to be at the forefront of the industry and to deliver a first-class service to customers both old and new.
